Arranging

and Composition

A Quick About Me

Since the age of 10, I have only wanted to teach music. I began on the cello during fifth grade. A history test was looming over me when an older gentleman came into my classroom carrying a violin and a single file folder. He introduced himself as Dr. Carson and asked the class who might be interested in learning about the String Family of instruments. My teacher, Mrs. Hall, was not impressed with his timing but it was good enough for me. Away I went with Dr. Carson to the "Rain PE Room" to learn about the string instruments. Other friends came with us and when it was time to choose our instruments, they all chose the violin. I decided that I didn't wish to follow the group, so I chose the cello. I'm so glad I went with Dr. Carson to learn about the cello. It has been and will always be my favorite instrument.

The journey since the great history test escape has been an amazing adventure. It has spanned from high school beginnings to an Undergraduate degree from Stetson University, winning the Concerto Competition to a Master's degree from the University of South Florida and continuing with twenty-seven years teaching Music for Hillsborough County Schools.
